For Fathers Day we made some stepping stones from the boys' handprints. They didn't harden enough, so they were still in the casts when we made them.

Grandpa's Visit
This past week Grandpa and soon to be Grandma Sharon came to visit us. Cobin got his first big boy bed....up from the toddler bed. We had some adventures and celebrated his birthday a little early, he turns three June 9th!
For Fathers Day we made some stepping stones from the boys' handprints. They didn't harden enough, so they were still in the casts when we made them.
Here is a picture of Cobin trying his best to hold up just three fingers. It was so funny, and then when he was done he told us that he blew out "three fires" ...aka candles. ( : He had a blast with all the birthday booty. We drove my dad out to see Lake Sylvan. We all want to go camping there, it is so beautiful, right near our home. Cameras don't do it justice.

And what day doesn't start good with a little sword-fighting!
I was so glad to have had the few days before mothers day my own mother come visit me. It was a great visit, but we weren't feeling good so the only pics we took were on her camera. I'll get them eventually.

It's been a while yet again. I think I have become a slacker with blogging because now that I'm back in the states I have a cell phone and I can tell the grandparents all the fun things that happen here. I don't know how often I'll blog, maybe I will get to it more often in the winter when the kiddos and I are stuck inside. Some things that are going on with us: We are loving this time of year in Colorado. Who wouldn't? I need to take some pictures of it now that it has lost its yuckiness: snow. There are paths to walk everywhere, and we bought a jogging stroller. It catches the wind when I'm running, and possibly doubles my workout, but we've been going to the several nearby parks quite often. Park is one of Lucas's 20-word vocabulary and we hear it come out in the form of "pok" whenever we get into the van or get the kids in the stroller. I'm excited to have started a running schedule with a friend about a block away. We're going to run a 5k in July and I'm excited about improving in that area. Having someone run with me is a lot more motivation than by myself. On another note, I'm so excited that my mom is coming to visit! She'll be here tomorrow night so I need to get things a little more organized! We are all (except James) trying to bounce back after a cold so I suppose that's our only bad news.
So anyone have ideas on blogging safety? Should I not list our names, first and last on here? I set it up that way but I can change it if I need to...I just don't know if it's necessary, so if anyone knows a reason that I should, please let me know. I know a lot of people that create nicknames and such, wondering if I should too.

Yesterday I was listening to conference and heard yet again that we need to have uplifting pictures in our home...but the good ones all cost so much! So we haven't ever bought any, nor do we want to spend the money on it now, so I decided to paint again. The temple I painted wasn't good enough for me to want to hang it up, so I tried something else. I did a water color of the well known praying hands. The image on the right is mine and the other one I found on the internet. I only took a pic of mine and didn't scan it so it looks darker than it really is. I think I'm gonna keep with this, watercolors are growing on me.
And, Cobin has yet again made us laugh! He has a kiddie size pastry brush he calls his broom, as in a Harry Potter flying broom. He took out our broom, the full size, from its cubby and said "Can you help me mommy?" "Help you what?" "Fly." As serious as asking for milk. He had already asked James that and asked me as I walked in from the garage... and added when told that we can't fly... "But Harry Potter can fly!" LOL, tv really isn't something young kids can understand yet, which is why we don't let him watch the scary parts of Harry Potter, or any other movie.

My Boys
Lucas has been having lots of fun with this one hat. It's so cute on him!
And one wonderful thing is to see your children not taking each others toys, but to see them sharing, and one reading to the other! Made my day yesterday.
